ICC WC 2011 - 1/27/11
Its been a while since i blogged and what can be the better occasion than ICC WC 2011 to restart with. In less than 23 days we will be witness the greatest cricket encounter again after 4 yrs. Every team have its own records. Here I will be listing some more interesting facts frequently for all the cricket lovers. Don't forget to make a note of these as some of these may get changed this WC.

Commercializing Cricket - T20
All the drama and action came to an end of this year's T20 world cup. Congrats to Pakistan on winning this time. But, now comes a big question to my mind - where is T20 leading cricket to?
We had world cup in 2007 (T20), IPL and then Worldcup in 2009(T20). We also start hearing that there will be one more T20 world cup in 2010. Before that we will have Champions League in 2009. With all these, where are we heading in terms of sports? How many players got injured this season? how many more yet to know about their injuries?
Leaving this behind, T20 is more viewed as an entertainer than a game. Why do our players need to play such an extensively pressured game? Dont we have enough entertaining channels to get life lived than extending the same to games like Cricket? How many of the viewers will be now interested to watch Test and ODI cricket?
Seriously, T20 had become a money machine for all those who view it commercially. This is game and this should not be the case. We saw how our national games vanished from the top list. It was Kabaddi, Hockey and now it should not be Cricket. We even saw a player like Sania loosing more matches than often. She was ranking among top 50 few months back. But what's her position now? This should not happen to our Cricketers. These players will definitely play too many shots in T20 and also falter in TESTs and ODIs.
This should be stopped.

IPL 2009
As we reach to the final of IPL 2009, Hyderabad and Bangalore fans are geared up to cheer their own teams. the momentum is with both the teams. Bangalore, with 5 consecutive wins to reach the final had won hearts of all cricket fans. Adam's Bomber innings in semis had given a ray of hope for Deccan fans. Also going through some of the overwhelmed reactions of fans, there have been some cases of both the state's going hard at each other. This is cricket and yes, whoever wins, its the win of IPL and also more importantly its win of Cricket. I think its important to keep this in mind. Excitement comes with sports and always better to N'Joy with excitement than landing/leading a way to controversy.

Hi, Our Honorable Health Minister's having several plans in imposing smoking ban throughout the country from Today. He is much concerned about Passive smoking. While emphasing this, its also observed that Govt. is also closely watching number of deaths caused due to Tobacco Smoking (Active & Passive).
Not sure where to start from but, Do Govt. have the guts to ban selling tobacco products in the country? Its evident from several News channels where people are also requested to think and quit smoking volutarily. From where did they start getting in to this smoke. However they came into, they are available in the market and hence this situation. Govt. doesn't want to lose from the taxes they earn from these products sale in the market.
This would also help Govt. save younger generation from falling into this grave. But they doesn't seem to be interested init.
Does banning realy help reduce smoking or increase smoking..........................
This certainly could have been done 20 - 25 years ago before which could have saved many people's lifes.
Many thoughts will also surround on this initiative. People will also start thinking of the ways in which govt. can earn money.
